Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.  (ccc 1601)

General Information:

To celebrate your marriage at St. Jerome, you will need to be a registered member of the parish and contact the priest at least 6 months prior to your wedding date.  Make an appointment to come in to talk to the priest and verify the availability of the date you request.  You will also need to attend an "Unveiled" Marriage Preperation program run by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.  You can learn more about that, and register for it here: https://evangelizerichmond.org/marriage/marriage-preparation/unveiled/

You will also need to provide us a copy of your Baptismal Certificate dated within six months of your wedding date.  Marriage license can be obtained at the Circuit Court and must be given to the Priest prior to the wedding day.
